Fabric drawers and panel drawers: ask better questions.
Choose by load information, structure, care and the things you intend to store.
Separate the frame from the drawer
A fabric-front storage tower may combine textile bins, a metal frame and a board top. A panel cabinet may combine particleboard, fiberboard, foil, paint and edging. Read the component list instead of treating “wood” or “fabric” as a complete construction specification.
Find the limits that apply
Look for the manufacturer’s load limit for the individual drawer, top and entire unit. Do not infer one from photographs, cabinet weight or another size in the range. If a limit is missing, record it as unknown and ask before storing heavy items.
Consider routine use
Check whether drawers lift out, how they are supported, what surface touches the contents and what cleaning method is allowed. These are useful questions even before hands-on testing. Our initial directory contains panel cabinets only; it is not a tested comparison of fabric and panel models.
Match the evidence to the claim
Material labels cannot establish durability, odor, smoothness or stability. Those require relevant evidence. We do not turn retailer reviews into our own test results. Use a return-policy check and, where possible, an in-person examination to resolve preferences a specification cannot answer.
