ROOM PLANNING, WITH THE DIMENSIONS LEFT IN.

Dimensions explained · 4 minute guide

Buy organizers from the inside out.

A drawer front is not the storage space behind it.

01

Measure the usable interior

Use the interior dimensions for the exact drawer, including any taper or hardware that changes usable space. Manufacturer figures can help shortlist organizers, but a height figure and real clearance are still needed. Our current directory does not have verified interior drawer heights.

02

Make a small paper plan

Draw the internal width and depth at a simple scale. Lay out the organizer sizes and leave the clearance their maker requires. A perfect arithmetic fit can still catch on a lip or drawer side; avoid interpreting the plan as an installation guarantee.

03

Keep access in mind

Drawer pull-out can be less than the internal depth. Put frequently reached items where you can access them comfortably, after checking the assembled cabinet. The calculator does not predict reach or movement for an individual user.

04

Avoid copying across versions

A similar front or shared range name does not prove equal interior dimensions. Record the article number and date beside the measurements. When a listing changes, recheck the relevant drawer before purchasing more inserts.

Put the measurements to work.
